Job Details: Our client in Stoney Creek, Ontario is looking for a full-time Psychiatrist to join their multidisciplinary healthcare team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and consultation services for patients experiencing a wide range of mental health conditions.

This position offers flexibility in scheduling, administrative support, and the opportunity to work alongside family physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and allied health professionals in an integrated care environment.

Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments and formulate diagnoses based on current clinical standards. The specialists will also develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions as well as provide ongoing management of patients with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, ADHD, trauma-related disorders, personality disorders, and other psychiatric conditions.

The specialists will participate in collaborative care planning and multidisciplinary case discussions as well as complete psychiatric reports, consultation notes, disability forms, and other clinical documentation as required. Other responsibilities include providing crisis assessment and risk evaluation, including suicide risk assessment and safety planning when appropriate.

The specialist will also monitor treatment effectiveness and adjust management plans based on patient response and evidence-based guidelines as well as maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records. Other roles include participating in quality improvement initiatives and support best practices in mental healthcare and contribute to patient education, health promotion, and relapse prevention strategies.

The clinic uses Telus PS Suite EMR and offers billing support. Payment structure is a blended model, There is no overhead costs which is dependent on chosen pay model, and the range of potential full-time annual earnings is $400,000-$500,000.

Incentives Available to the Physician: Medical/Health insurance and retention bonus which will be discussed with candidates during negotiations.

Clinic Details: The clinic is a collaborative multidisciplinary environment that provides opportunity to develop specialized areas of practice and clinical interest as well as a supportive and collegial workplace culture focused on patient-centred care.

The clinic also provides a steady stream of appropriate psychiatric consultations and follow-up opportunities. Administrative support is provided for scheduling, patient communication, referrals, and documentation management, allowing physicians to focus on clinical care. Nursing support is also available to assist with administrative tasks. Clinic hours are Monday-Thursday 8am-8pm, Friday 8am-4pm and Saturday 8am-4pm.

The clinic utilizes a modern electronic medical record system and is committed to innovation, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice. Opportunities exist to participate in interdisciplinary case reviews, mentorship, teaching, and the development of specialized mental health programs. There are 2 full-time and 3 part-time family physicians currently working at the clinic.

The clinic offers free on-site parking and is situated in a well-established city with a wide range of patient demographics with many schools, restaurants, shopping malls, establishments, etc.

Requirements:
•  Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) 
•  Specialist training from Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Ireland, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, UK, or USA
