The incoming physician will work a minimum of 40 hours per week and have the following duties · Provide comprehensive, patient-centered primary care to patients of all ages. · Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions. · Perform routine health assessments, annual physical examinations, and preventive care screenings. · Develop and implement individualized treatment and management plans. · · Order and interpret laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, and other investigations. · Prescribe medications and monitor treatment effectiveness. This is a community-based psychiatrist job in general adult psychiatry and references will be received by the family physicians. The job includes a comprehensive, holistic and psychiatric assessment and will be specifically tailored to the client’s needs. The incoming specialist will be experienced and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as confidence in managing complex mental health patients and the ability to operate the clinic’s EMR. The clinic fosters independence and very comprehensive mental health specialist skills. As this is not a hospital-based job, the physician should have competent skills to manage complex cases. The clinic has the approval from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. If possible, the physician should schedule a visit to the clinic to meet the team. This is encouraged but not mandatory. Hours of work are 9am-5pm Monday-Friday with no on-calls, and the possibility of supported weekend shifts from 9am-5pm as well as a hybrid option should the specialist wish to work from a remote location. The client prefers the incoming specialist having a client-centred approach. Currently, the clinic is undergoing a cooling phase before the referrals start coming in and will be fully operational and running in 6 months.
