INDEPENDENT LICENSED ONLY / Job ID: 2580 $600K Earning Potential, Psychiatrist Needed for Community Health Centre- Open in June 2026!  Job Details: Our client in Edmonton, Alberta is looking for a full-time Psychiatrist to join their Community Health Centre which will open in June 2026. This is a community-based psychiatrist job in general adult psychiatry and references will be received by the family physicians. The job includes a comprehensive, holistic and psychiatric assessment and will be specifically tailored to the client’s needs. The incoming specialist will be experienced and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as confidence in managing complex mental health patients and the ability to operate the clinic’s EMR.   The clinic fosters independence and very comprehensive mental health specialist skills. As this is not a hospital-based job, the physician should have competent skills to manage complex cases. The clinic has the approval from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. It is anticipated that the clinic will be fully operational in June 2026. If possible, a visit to the clinic is encouraged but not mandatory. Hours of work are 9am-5pm Monday-Friday with no on-calls, and the possibility of supported weekend shifts from 9am-5pm as well as a hybrid option should the specialist wish to work from a remote location. The client prefers the incoming specialist having a client-centred approach. Currently, the clinic is undergoing a cooling phase before the referrals start coming in and will be fully operational and running in 6 months. Within this time, the client anticipates that with the population of 1.2 million Edmontonians, the caseload will at any time be between 1000 to 1500 cases and even more. Please note that the physician has the choice to accept or refuse clients. The clinic uses AVA EMR, and offers billing support. The payment structure is fee-for-service, split arrangement is 70/30, and the range of potential full-time annual earnings is $500,000- $600,000. Clinic Details: The clinic offers both administrative and nursing support. Please note that this is not a family practice clinic and there will be limited ancillary support. However, due to the state-of-the-art EMR and booking procedures that the clinic utilizes, the incoming physician can work quite independently. Clinic work hours are very flexible from 8am-5pm Monday-Friday with the option to work during weekends. There is 1 Psychiatrist currently working at the clinic.
