The town of Olds is in the Central region of Alberta, one of the fastest and wealthiest regions in Canada due to the oil industry. The town is located along the Queen Elizabeth II highway connecting the two largest metropolitan cities of Calgary and Edmonton, surrounded by natural beauty and stunning rocky mountain views. The community Sportsplex and arena includes 2 ice surfaces for hosting hockey, skating, and curling events. The Olds Aquatic Centre also includes many aquatic activities for all ages, a heated indoor pool with lap swimming and leisure uses, and access to the water slide.The community has 20km of paved and unpaved trails and routes through parks, and nature areas to enjoy outdoor activities all year round with cross country ski trails throughout the town in the winter months and biking, hiking in the summer. Both fishing and camping are also a popular attraction in the area. Olds includes two golf courses and the Hartman Green Frisbee Golf & Walking Trail, an 843 meter, nine-hole, par 27-disc course which includes paved trails through the park. The heart of the town is the Centennial Park, with a skatepark, pickleball courts and areas to enjoy picnics, go for walks or go for a bike ride. In the winter you will find the outdoor ice rink and in the summer months to keep everyone cool there is a splashpad. The park is home to the Kiwanis Historical Prairie Village where many events are held throughout the year including the Olds Fashioned Christmas events, parades, and in the summer, it is host to outdoor movies, music events and weddings. 

The Olds & District Kiwanis Music Festival is held each year at the Multimedia Performing art theatre where talents come from across the province to join in the art of speech and music across the province, held each year. In September, the town hosts Oldstoberfest which is the world's first and only Bavarian Rodeo which attracts 8,000 visitors each year.

Olds is 1 hour north of Calgary and 40 minutes from Red Deer. Both have airports, Red Deer Regional offers domestic flights and Calgary International offers direct flights to the US, Europe, and other international destinations.

Red Deer is a city in Alberta located halfway between Calgary and Edmonton, along Alberta’s busiest highway - The Queen Elizabeth II (QE II). It is the province’s third largest city behind Edmonton and Calgary. Red Deer has a population of about 101,000, and is a bustling foodie city, capitalising on the rich agricultural heritage. St. Albert is a city in Alberta, Canada, on the Sturgeon River northwest of the City of Edmonton. It was originally settled as a Mйtis community, and is now the second-largest city in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region. St. Albert first received its town status in 1904 and was reached by the Canadian Northern Railway in 1906.

Strathmore is a town located along the Trans-Canada Highway in southern Alberta, Canada within Wheatland County. It is approximately 50 kilometres (30 mi) east of the City of Calgary.

The town of Sundre is situated in the central region along the Cowboy trail at the foot of the Canadian Rockies, northwest from the city of Calgary. Many of the towns and communities in the central region rely on oil, forestry, agriculture, ranching, hospitality, and tourism for their economy to thrive. The Sundre community has a population of 2,500 and sits on the Red Deer River, surrounded by tall, lush evergreens and views of the Rocky Mountains. 

The community centre is the hub of the town, hosting children’s programs, and has the local library which offers summer reading programs and family arts and craft nights. The community has two public schools and offers education options from kindergarten to grade 8 along with the local high school.

The Aquaplex has a 25-meter main pool, leisure pool, waterslide, and lots of pool activities for all ages in the community. The facility also has 24 hour gym access for members. Sundre Arts Development centre hosts dance and performing arts as well as live music and theatre productions. Sundre and District Pioneer Village Museum includes the Chester Mjolsness 'World of Wildlife' natural history exhibit of 150 taxidermy animals from across the world.

The town emphasizes buying and selling locally with its shops, restaurants and coffee shops serving their customers with locally grown or crafted goods. Opportunities to taste and buy local produce are not limited with several farmer markets running from May through to October. The community farmer market runs on Friday evenings, with the Bergen Farmers market on a Saturday morning. There is also the Cowboy Trail market that runs every Saturday and Sunday from May- October.

The Snake Hill Recreations Area and Riverside Trails have more than 17km of groomed nature trails for hiking, biking, and in the winter for cross country skiing. The Sundre Golf Club offers a 72 par, 18 hole course.

Events and festivals are held along the river throughout the year from the Sundre Pro Rodeo in June, the Shady Grove Bluegrass festival in July, The Bulls, and Wagons in August, Sundown in Sundre in the fall and the yearly Winterfest which includes music, winter markets and ice sculptures. 

Close to town there are unlimited outdoor activities with opportunities to explore lakes, waterfalls, mountains, and scenic views on foot, by biking, or horse riding. Ya-Ha Tinda Ranch is a wonderful location to explore the wildness and wild-free roaming horses.

There is the Mahikan Trails Indigenous Experience known as the medicine walk where you can stroll through the forest, and across wooden boardwalks learning about the local plants and their healing properties.

The Red Deer River is a popular destination for fishing with its variety of trout. It is also an ideal location for rafting and kayaking. There are several riverside campgrounds and RV parks only a 10 minute drive from the town.

The Begen Rock International is close to Sundre and worth a visit, to see marble art sculptures by artists from around the world.
