Our client owns 3 clinic locations. The incoming specialist will be required to work at 2 of the clinic locations that are 7 mins apart from each other. Split of care will be 50/50 or 60/40 depending on which clinic has a higher demand for patients; both clinics have access to a large, established patient pool. The candidate will be responsible for the full scope of Paediatric care. This includes providing paediatric consultations and follow up care for infants, children, and adolescents as well as manage a large, well-established paediatric patient population across 2 clinic locations. The Paediatrician will also handle a high demand for paediatric services with a consistent internal referral stream and see patients primarily through scheduled appointments as well as collaborate closely with family physicians in a team-based care model, manage acute and chronic paediatric conditions, and practice independently with no supervision required. Hours are flexible and include morning, evening, and weekend shifts. Work hours and days can be scheduled according to the specialist’s availability and preference. With the opportunity to structure a schedule that supports work-life balance while maintaining a full practice. No mandatory on-call duties are required. The town of Sundre is situated in the central region along the Cowboy trail at the foot of the Canadian Rockies, northwest from the city of Calgary. Many of the towns and communities in the central region rely on oil, forestry, agriculture, ranching, hospitality, and tourism for their economy to thrive. The Sundre community has a population of 2,500 and sits on the Red Deer River, surrounded by tall, lush evergreens and views of the Rocky Mountains.

The community centre is the hub of the town, hosting children’s programs, and has the local library which offers summer reading programs and family arts and craft nights. The community has two public schools and offers education options from kindergarten to grade 8 along with the local high school.

The Aquaplex has a 25-meter main pool, leisure pool, waterslide, and lots of pool activities for all ages in the community. The facility also has 24 hour gym access for members. Sundre Arts Development centre hosts dance and performing arts as well as live music and theatre productions. Sundre and District Pioneer Village Museum includes the Chester Mjolsness 'World of Wildlife' natural history exhibit of 150 taxidermy animals from across the world.

The town emphasizes buying and selling locally with its shops, restaurants and coffee shops serving their customers with locally grown or crafted goods. Opportunities to taste and buy local produce are not limited with several farmer markets running from May through to October. The Snake Hill Recreations Area and Riverside Trails have more than 17km of groomed nature trails for hiking, biking, and in the winter for cross country skiing. The Sundre Golf Club offers a 72 par, 18 hole course.

Events and festivals are held along the river throughout the year from the Sundre Pro Rodeo in June, the Shady Grove Bluegrass festival in July, The Bulls, and Wagons in August, Sundown in Sundre in the fall and the yearly Winterfest which includes music, winter markets and ice sculptures.

Close to town there are unlimited outdoor activities with opportunities to explore lakes, waterfalls, mountains, and scenic views on foot, by biking, or horse riding. Ya-Ha Tinda Ranch is a wonderful location to explore the wildness and wild-free roaming horses.

There is the Mahikan Trails Indigenous Experience known as the medicine walk where you can stroll through the forest, and across wooden boardwalks learning about the local plants and their healing properties.

The Red Deer River is a popular destination for fishing with its variety of trout. It is also an ideal location for rafting and kayaking. There are several riverside campgrounds and RV parks only a 10 minute drive from the town.

The Begen Rock International is close to Sundre and worth a visit, to see marble art sculptures by artists from around the world.
