Job Details: Our client in Calgary, Alberta is looking for a full-time Family Physician to join their Family Practice/Walk-in clinic network working weekends and afterhours in their Northwest locations. The incoming physician will work as part of the physician team providing full scope of family practice in one of the clinics as their primary location, with the opportunity to work at an additional clinic location on an ad-hoc basis. 

Hours of work are Saturdays and Sundays, which are fairly flexible starting between 8 – 10am, weekday evenings usually start around 4pm until 8 or 9pm. Working these shifts does have its benefits as you will miss traffic and usually have a higher volume of walk-in patients. This allows you to have a bit more time back for yourself. From time to time, there will be rooms available during weekdays; you may coordinate with the clinic manager to work those days if it suits.

Our client runs a network of clinics across most of Canada, with many clinics and locations being added all the time. They are committed to empowering patients with care that results in improving health care outcomes. They will work closely with you to ensure there is a smooth transition of practice. Currently they have an empty clinic in Edmonton, Alberta that is in need of Doctors if this is of interest, there is an opportunity for you to establish your own patient panel.

The clinic has an EMR system in place and offers specialized billing support. Payment structure is fee-for-service, split arrangement is 75/25. The range of potential full-time annual earnings is $300,000-$600,000.  

Incentives Available to the Physician: Eligible for an excellent variety of incentives and bonuses, to be discussed with interested candidates.

-    $20,000 cash maximum total value, paid out equally over two years [$5,000 in month 6, 12, 18, 24]  
-    The bonus is inclusive of relocation and signing a 2 year agreement.
-    The $20,000 maximum value is granted based on a 1.0FTE commitment (35hrs per week), the value may be pro rata should the physician elect to reduce the number of work hours.

Family Physician required for Modern and Supportive Mississauga Clinic  

Job Details: Our client in Mississauga, Ontario is looking for a full-time and/or part-time Family Physician to join their Family Practice/Walk-in clinic, preferably someone with a long term plan to build up a practice and roster of patients. The right candidate is expected to have good communication skills, experience dealing with variety of patient demographics and have average computer skills to use the EMR system and write reports as needed. The physician will be expected to see 30-40 patients daily, dealing with different medical conditions as expected in a primary care setting, with patients from all ages including antenatal care, well-baby visits, vaccinations, and follow ups on diabetics, hypertensive, and other chronic medical conditions periodically. There are no emergency cases. Experience with any subspeciality (Dermatology, Pediatrics, Surgery, Emergency Medicine) would be an asset. 

Clinic working hours are Monday to Friday 10am-6pm and Saturday 11am-3pm. The physician may choose how many hours and when to work within this time limit, there is no calls or after hours shifts required. However, they are required to cover at least 30 hours a week and at least 2 Saturdays a month. Long/Annual leave should be arranged between the physicians to insure continuous coverage of the clinic during non-statuary holidays. 

The clinic uses Accuro EMR, and offers billing support. Payment structure is fee-for-service, split arrangement is 70/30, which includes all the OHIP billing, cash, payments by legal/insurance companies, and uncovered services (which the patients pay for, directly to the physician). The range of potential full-time annual earnings is $450,000-$500,000.  

Incentives Available to the Physician: Work permit and PR support Available 

Clinic Details: This modern clinic is wheelchair friendly with an accessible entrance and washrooms. There are 6 fully equipped exam rooms with all new furniture and automated machines for vitals. There is a room for minor procedures that is prepared with all the surgical instruments, a lab room for all blood tests and a pharmacy on site that includes OTC meds, braces, crutches etc. The clinic is paperless, and everything is computerized, every staff member is offered a laptop to use in the clinic. Virtual patients visits on phone are available and billable by OHIP. The clinic staff are well trained and skilled to do all the injections, vaccinations, and simple test procedures, for the doctor. There is a technician for Echo-cardiography, HOLTER and ECG. Professional desk staff and doctor's assistants review the mail, faxes, and test reports, prepare them for the doctor and book appointments with patients to discuss further. The clinic's dynamics is designed to help the doctor, using their duty time efficiently to see more patients with as minimum effort as possible. There is 1 family physician currently working at the clinic. 

The Clinic is in the Erin Mills area in the City of Mississauga, which is part of the great Toronto area. It is mostly a residential area, with a diversity of culture, with a variety of restaurants, and several malls. Toronto International Airport is 30 minute's drive , Lake Ontario and Niagara Falls are a short driving, there is lots of trials and outdoor activities 30 to 90 minute's drive, and skiing, snowmobiling are 2 hours drive away. This gives you the opportunity to enjoy city living in one of the biggest cities in Ontario with lots of places and activities to explore in the area.
