LMIA Ready, Excellent Incentives, Turnkey Practice Takeover from Retiring Physician (with pics!)
Job Details: Our Client in Lansdowne, Ontario is looking for a full-time Family Physician to take over a patient roster of 1,100 patients from a retiring doctor. This is a two-physician, turnkey practice with no investment required.  New doctor will provide comprehensive primary medical care to existing roster with ample opportunity to increase the patient base and grow the practice.  Patient demographics require the physician to be fluent in English. Physicians determine their personal work schedule. Practice is part of a Family Health Organization (FHO) with each FHO doctor providing evening/weekend after-hours clinic coverage on average three times per month.Â
For a physician with permanent Canadian residency status, there is opportunity for hospitalist or ER work and perhaps long term care work in the area. There is opportunity to host 3rd and 4th year medical residents from Queen’s University in Kingston. Â
The clinic uses Avaros EMR, and offers billing support. Payment structure is a combination of Blended Capitation/Fee-For-Service. The range of potential full-time gross annual earnings is $392,000-$504,000.
Clinic operating expenses (support staff salaries, office supplies, equipment maintenance and service contracts) is shared between the two clinic physicians. There is a small rent amount. Full details can be provided during the interview. The facility is owned and operated by a Charity and the Board is the facility landlord, employ the support staff, act as paymaster and engage a bookkeeper. Â
Incentives Available to the Physician
• LMIA approval has been obtained for a suitable candidate needing to obtain a work permit.
• The Township will pay $20K to the physician annually on their anniversary date with the clinic for up to five years, provide a $5K relocation allowance, cover the premiums for single or family enrollment in a reputable group healthcare plan, and pay for up to six months (maximum $10K) of career coaching for a spouse by a professional HR firm.Â
• The Medical Centre Board will waive the first month’s overhead and lease (approx. $10,500). The Board also offers a minimum of $5K annually for up to three additional years beyond the initial term of service.
Clinic Details: Recently renovated and expanded the facility offers a modern, well-equipped clinic space consisting of seven exam rooms, nursing station, physician touch-down area, reception, and spacious waiting room. There are additional office spaces and meeting rooms. Open from 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday and closed for one hour at noon. A pharmacy rents space in the building. There is ample free parking for staff and patients. Â Clinic is well staffed with a clinic nurse, two office staff, a nurse practitioner and two family physicians (includes the physician planning retirement). There is direct access for referrals to Allied Health Professionals specializing in social work, dietetics, and preventative care, who see patients on-site.
Lansdowne, Ontario  just north of the Thousand Islands Bridge to the USA is centrally located between Montreal and Toronto, just off the 401 corridor.  Only a 30-minute drive to Brockville, 45-minute drive to Kingston, 90-minute drive to Ottawa, the Nation's Capital. The village boasts a variety of local shops, restaurants, and grocers. Nearby Gananoque (15 minutes) has dentists, veterinaries, law offices, banking institutions, shopping, live theatre, restaurants, fast food and several other amenities. The area is a popular retirement destination near the St. Lawrence River and Charleston Lake with a vast offering of recreation, tourist attractions and beautiful settings. Choose to reside in a nearby town (Gananoque) city (Kingston/Brockville), quaint community (Lansdowne/Mallorytown/Rockport...), on a waterfront lot (1000 Islands Parkway) or in the country with acreage.
The nearby hospitals are in Brockville (community hospital) and Kingston (tertiary care). Schools include English and French public, English, and French Catholic. Requirements:
• Postgraduate training from Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, or USA
• Eligible for certification by the College of Family Physicians Canada (CFPC)
• Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) Â
