The US political climate has been quite unstable in the past year, and this has left many physicians somewhat disenchanted. The US government's recent changes in government policies and protocols have made physicians apprehensive of their future in the US. Canada is well-known for its welcoming policies towards immigrants. This is why Canada is considered one of the top countries in the world for immigrants to get citizenship. This is especially true for physicians. As stated earlier, the country has struggled with a shortage of physicians.
Permanent residency or citizenship pathways could be quite difficult for people of all professions. However, the Canadian government has always valued healthcare workers such as Doctors, nurses, and personal support workers. Although doctors will still need to undergo the usual routes for permanent residency and ultimately citizenship, their education and experience are a great advantage.
