Nominees, along with their spouse and dependents, approved under this program may become permanent residents of Canada following approval by the Canadian government. This is a fantastic opportunity!
It is a 2 step process:
1: Apply to be nominated by the Nova Scotia government. Free!
2: Once approved, apply to the Federal Government for PR. Regular Immigration fees and wait times apply.
**Additional Incentive Programs that may be available - case-by-case availability**
Additional opportunities for Physicians may be available, and are on a case-by case basis:
- Free/reduced rent facilities, or preferred overhead arrangements
- In the case of those participating in primary care collaborative teams, there has been support for the addition of other health providers to the team such as Nurse Practitioners, Family Practice Nurses, dieticians, etc. in clinics.
These opportunities, if available, will be shared in calls, interviews, discussions and site visits.
**Community Incentives- community assisted, non-formal programs**
Some of the local businesses and community groups will provide unique incentives to Physicians to establish practice. These have included hiring incentives, free clinic offices, additional relocation, free lodging for a period of time, and help with employing the Physician’s spouse. These are not a part of any formal program, but instead are community-based programs, and are often not known in advance.
These opportunities, if available, will be shared in calls, interviews, discussions and site visits.
