$20,000 Signing Bonus and Excellent Additional Incentives (with pics!)

Job Details:
 Our client in Nisga’a Valley, British Columbia has full-time, part-time, and/or locum opportunities for Family Physicians to provide primary and urgent care across the traditional Nisga’a Territory of Nisga’a Valley. A team of three physicians work together to provide daily full-scope services (no obstetrics, no impatient care) travelling to each of 4 Indigenous communities by car, including being on-call 1:3. RN is first on call. The facilities use MedAccess EMR and offer billing support. Payment structure is through a Clinical Services Contract; Alternative Payment Program (APP), average of $11,000 per week with no overheads and the range of potential annual earnings is $400,000 - $500,000.

Excellent Incentives:  Incentives available are based on eligibility and include rural retention bonus, relocation allowance, and recruitment bonus. All incentives and bonuses will be discussed further with interested candidates.

Clinic Details: The physician group provides comprehensive health services for four First Nations communities in the Nisga’a Valley: Gitlaxtaa’miks (New Aiyansh), Gitwinksihlkw (Canyon), Laxgalts’ap (Greenville), and Gingolx (Kincolith). They provide care to a population of 3,781 which includes Nisga’a and non-Nisga’a residents, as well as off core lands citizens who access primary care services in the valley. The centers are open 9am-5pm plus 24/7 for emergencies (no admissions, just assessment/stabilization); PoCUS equipment at all sites; no other imaging onsite; labs drawn on-site twice per week but sent out for processing; nearest hospital and imaging is 1.5 hours away in Terrace; no obstetrics.

Three of the Health and Wellness Centers are staffed with full-time RNs who take first call, and the fourth center is a Mental Wellness Program Hub with primary care services one day per week. The primary care services are provided in concert with other in-valley programs including Public Health, Mental Wellness and Addictions, Home Care, Community Wellness, and Community Rehabilitation (OT/PT), with case management for patients with complex needs. Specialist services are accessed through a combination of visiting specialists, telemedicine, and out-of-valley travel to specialists. These are all covered services. They do not provide in-patient care; and work with in-valley first responders and regional transportation resources for clients requiring a higher level of care.

The territory is 100 km northwest of Terrace, located on British Columbia's rugged northwest coast where soaring mountains, picturesque fjords, dramatic lava beds, natural hot springs, and thriving rivers offer outstanding recreation year-round. Natural hot springs, mountain biking trails, world-class salmon and steelhead fishing, snowshoe/hiking and much more is easily accessible after clinic!

Requirements: 
• Postgraduate training from Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia or USA
• Eligible for certification by the College of Family Physicians Canada (CFPC)
• Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC)
• ACLS and PALS required; ATLS preferred, and may become mandatory
