Job Details: Our client in Oshawa, Ontario is seeking a full-time Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join their Mental Health and Addictions, Child Youth, and Family Hospital Programs for weekday daytime inpatient and outpatient work, in-person and virtual outpatient work, and on-call emergency coverage.

The incoming physician will join a vibrant and motivated group, including psychiatrists, mental health nurses, social workers, child and youth workers, and an excellent management and support staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to interprofessional teamwork and collaboration.

The role requires a 35-40 hour work week with some flexibility in working hours, and participation in on-call/emergency coverage. The facility uses Epic EMR. Payment structure is fee-for-service, and sessional/stipend support including Hospital On-Call Coverage (HOCC), and the range of potential annual earnings is $400,000-$500,000.

Incentives Available to the Physician:Secretarial support, office, office equipment, sessional/stipend support to promote quality of care, part of interdisciplinary team (including nurses, social workers, physician assistant, NP, etc.), and a large team of psychiatrists available for vacation/other coverage.

Facility Details: This full-service community hospital provides care to residents of Oshawa and the Durham Region, and is part of a network of hospitals. Child and Adolescent services include an 8-bed Child-Adolescent Unit alongside a Mental Health Day Treatment Program, Eating Disorders Program, Early Psychosis Intervention and a range of other ambulatory services. Therapy programs include group and individual therapy for mood, anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, and chronic self-harming/suicidality (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy).

The department provides a variety of specialty services including Addictions Medicine (extensive addictions service located in hospital and at a centre), Eating Disorders, First Episode Psychosis Clinic, collaborative care with family physicians, dual diagnosis, day treatment programs, etc.

The city of Oshawa is located in the Greater Toronto Are (GTA), an hour east of downtown Toronto, along the Lake Ontario shoreline.

Requirements: 
• Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
• Eligible for certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
• Specialist training from Canada, USA, Australia, Hong Kong, Ireland, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, and UK
