Job Details: Our client in Neil’s Harbour, Nova Scotia is looking for a full-time Family Physician to join a three person rural practice. Modern office space with shared staff and EMR is located in the Community Health Centre. Responsibilities include running a family practice office, caring for inpatients, providing ER coverage and low volume after hours call. Family Physicians may participate in the teaching of medical students and family practice residents through the University. Call and emergency shifts outside the regular schedule are compensated in addition to the APP rate. Payment structure is through an Alternate Payment Plan (APP) and the range of potential annual earnings is $350,000 - $400,000.

Clinic Details: The Community Health Centre is a short-term care facility that serves the 13 communities of Neil’s Harbor, Dingwall, Bay St. Lawrence, Meat Cove, Ingonish, and surrounding areas. This covers a population of approximately 4,200 and increases during the summer season. It is a 10-bed inpatient unit that provides inpatient and outpatient care and clinic-based programs. Neil’s Harbour is a fishing village located along the world famous Cabot Trail and Highlands National Park in scenic Cape Breton, and offers scenic surroundings and many opportunities for excellent year round outdoor activity.
Requirements:
• Postgraduate training from Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia or USA
• Eligible for certification by the College of Family Physicians Canada (CFPC)
• Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
